Design Stuff

I thought I'd take a break from the 30 Things. Probably because next on the list is "What is the hardest thing you've ever experienced?" and I'm having the hardest time thinking of what to write about...

So instead I thought I'd share a little something something. If you didn't know, I went to school for graphic and web design. I graduated in May 2011 and have done a few things here and there but nothing very serious. And I'm pretty embarrassed to say that I don't open illustrator or photoshop as much as I should, in fact almost never. I'm pretty very rusty.

Recently though I've been playing around and even designed a few things! Including my fancy new header! I forgot how much I enjoy it! Here are a few others I've been working on just for fun.

Happy Wednesday.

Dear 16 Year Old Self...

If you don't know what is going on here take a look at 12 and 3

4/30 : List 10 things you would tell your 16 year-old self, if you could.

1. Try and do better in school. I know it seems so lame right now. I know what you're thinking "Why do I need to learn this? History and English are so dumb!" But trust me, it's important. Learn these 'boring' things now and you'll do so much better in college later! Not to mention you'll be so much smarter!

2. Choose your friends wisely. You're still new in town and you'll become very close with a few amazing people. But as you grow up and graduate you'll start working and meeting different people. Befriend everyone, its okay, But be careful who you hand out with. Not everyone shares your values and they can get you into trouble. Stay close to your family they are your best lifelong friends!

3. Don't be so shy! Talk to people more and don't worry so much about what people think of you. Not everyone is as judging as you think. You'll make more friends and have more fun being social!

4. Stay strong in the church. Read the book of Mormon and build your testimony. It will better prepare you for entering the temple one day.

5. Learn to manage your money. You have a problem with spending too much. You'll have your first job soon and have no bills or anything to pay for. Make it a habit now to save and spend a little here and there.

6. Don't quit the guitar. You'll regret it.

7. Play some kind of sport, get into running, biking, anything active. You'll wish you did later.

8. Spend more time with your family. They love you and you'll miss them SO MUCH when you move.

9. Always remember your self worth.

10. Don't give into peer pressure.

(This is like the ONLY picture I could find of myself at 16 years old.... attractive..)

Parents

3/30 : Describe your relationship with you parents

My parents are the best! My mom is my best friend! I've always cherished the close relationship I've had with her! I'll always remember one time someone in church, I don't know who. but someone commented on how they loved how close we are. She is such a hard worker and so willing to help! She is so easy to make fun of because she just says the funniest things sometimes. And we do it cause we LOVE you mom :o). I've learned from her by example. She has such a strong testimony of the gospel and truly wants what is best for her children. When we are sad she is sad, when we are filled with joy she is the happiest mom on earth and wants to share that joy with everyone! It has been so hard living so far away from her.

My dad is awesome! He is the most hardworking, honest, humble and smartest man I know! He's kind of a quiet to himself person but super dorky and hilarious at the same time! I love it when my dad laughs! He is also a very hardcore athletic super dad! Triathlons, marathons, Navy diver.... yeah he's hardcore. He is soft spoken, I don't remember him ever yelling. He is the best example and a worthy priesthood holder and I've always been thankful for that. He is also the easiest person to talk to. I wouldn't call myself a "daddy's girl" but I'm thankful for the close relationship we have and that I know I can count on him for anything!

I'm so blessed to have such loving parents who love each other. They have created a family who loves each other, who have good times together, and who actually like to be with each other :). I wouldn't trade them for anything! I hope that Josh and I will be just as awesome parents one day!

Fears.

2/30 : Fears

Day 2: Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.

1. Falling asleep while driving. I think this fear started when I lived in Florida and I started hanging out with people from Tallahassee. My friends and I would drive from Panama City Beach to Tallahassee which is about a 2 hour drive. We'd spend the weekend there and sometimes even just a day. So a lot of the time we'd end up driving home at midnight or later. This meant a lot of Red Bull (probably where my obsession began). But anyway, driving so late there were countless times when I would doze off and have a mini panic attack! It didn't help that the road we drove on was dark and scary. Now I really hate driving at night unless I'm not tired at all!

2. Speaking in front of people. As I mentioned in my last post I cant speak in front of large groups. I'm pretty convinced I have Glossophobia. The fear of speaking in public. Its a problem. I don't know why?! Just a few weeks ago I was in Relief Society and we do this thing called "good news minuet" and I thought to myself 'I should tell everyone I'm going to Florida, thats good news...' So I raise my hand, and as soon as I started to speak I got really hot, my heart started pounding and all of a sudden I started talking really really fast. Even when I was done talking it took a few mins to calm myself down. I feel like everyone in the room could feel my heart beating out of my chest... Its sad I know.

3. .... I cant think of three things... So I'm cheating. :)

Its Blogging Time!

Confession... I'm a terrible blogger. I wouldn't even call myself a blogger. I'm a "blogger wannabe". I only follow a few blogging friends and I absolute love reading their posts and aww-ing at thier cute babies and whatnot. (Seriously now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure all my blogger buddies are moms.) And after I read these cute blogs I think to myself "I wish I had interesting things to blog about...."

Well thanks to my very very good best friend Jessica and her "blog hopping", I've decided to join her and do this 30 day blog thing. (found on this blog). We'll see how long I last... also did you notice how many times I just said the word "blog/blogger/blogging" jeez...

1/30 : 20 Random Things about Me

1. I am a mormon. And I love it.

2. Josh and I dated for 2 years, 3 months and 28 days before we finally tied the knot! Thats a long time in Utah. Looking back I think it was good for us, we learned A LOT about each other and ourselves.

3. When people ask me where I'm "from" I never know what to say. I usually always say Florida cause thats where I moved from and thats where my family is living currently. But before that it was Washington and before that it was California and before that it was Washington...soo.... I'm from WA, CA, and FL. There.

4. I am the oldest kid in my family. I absolutly LOVE them!

5. I hate living so far away from my family.. I always miss them!

6. I recently gave up Red Bull.. (If you know me this is a BIG deal). Its been about a month and I'm proud of myself.

7. I have an obsession with scarfs. It has only gotten worse since I moved to Utah because I actually have a use for them.

8. I'm on my phone waaaay too much!

13. I hate it when people say I have black hair. IT'S DARK BROWN

14. Taylor Swift is my guilty pleasure....

15. I cant stand when my nails aren't painted. And when they are painted I cant stand when they chip... and when they chip...even just a tiny bit.. I have to pick it all off, every. single. nail. Then I paint them again and it happens all over again. Its a love/hate thing.

16. If you were a fly on my wall you'd think Josh and I are the weirdest couple on planet earth. Its true, we probably are, but only with eachother. In public we're totally normal. :)
