Passions

8/30 : What are 5 passions you have?

1. Family.
I'm pretty much obsessed with these people. They are my favorite! And it is so comforting to know I'll be with them forever! And not just my immediate family, my in-law family is pretty awesome as well. I love how they have just taken me in as one of their own, especially since my fam is so far away!

2. Joshua.
Technically he should be included in "family" but he is so much more than my family. Words cannot describe how much I love this guy. Sometimes I just look at him while he's doing something and think "How did I get so lucky?"

3. Music.
It just makes the day better.

4. Pictures.
I use to take way more pictures than I do now. Lately I just snap a pic with my phone and call it good. They make such good memories. I love looking at pictures from years ago and reliving special times in my life.

5. The Gospel.
Learning it. Living it. It brings so much joy to my life.

Hello Sunshine!

The past few days Utah has decided to catch up with how the weather should be in spring! Which makes me want to get out and enjoy the sunshine! This past weekend I had a few opportunities to do so!

Friday I had an early shift and was off by 2! Josh and I rode our new bikes to get some ice cream, then rode around the neighborhood for a bit. When we got home we laid out a blanket and chilled on our mini front yard under our cute little pink tree! Riding our bikes made me feel like a kid again! And laying out in the sun just made me more excited for our upcoming trip to Florida!!

Then on Saturday I had to work all day. BUT I got to work outside all day! Which was SO much fun! It was a good change. No one needing me for every little stupid thing! Plus I got a little sun! It may have been a nasty farmers tan but it feels good to have a little color on my arms and face! Which, again, makes me so freakin excited for FLORIDA!!

With all this warm weather and constantly thinking about going to FL. I've realized, I have absolutely NO real summer clothes :(!! I've got my eye on a few things though, that I MUST buy before I leave! Mostly skirts.. I have a feeling skirts are going to become my best friend this summer :)!

And I'm pretty sure the next few days (my next two days off) It's suppose to rain! Of course!

Dream Job

7/30 : What is your dream job and why?

I know what you're thinking, "You're gonna end up working at Lowe's FOR-E-VER!" (said like the kid from The Sandlot). Well no sir!

Growing up I don't remember my mom working. She was always there. We were never in daycare (that I can remember anyway). She drove us to soccer (not me :]), friends houses, YW/YM. I loved that! And on top of all that the house was always (mostly) clean and we ate dinner as a family. That's the kind of job I want! BUT, with the economy being how it is, I'll probably have to work. And that's alright. I've had a job since I was 16. I need to work. I don't know what I'd do with my life if I didn't work.

So since I have to work... :) A stay at home job would be nice! Something I can do on my own time, while at the same time be there to take care of my kids. A graphic design job would be ideal! Designing for local businesses.  what exactly? Uhh... I'm not sure yet. Logos, magazines... I should probably get designing more ya think?

Ultimately I just want to be happy and stable.

The Hardest Thing

6/30 : What's the hardest thing you have ever experienced.

Trying to figure out the hardest thing I've ever experienced, has been the hardest thing! I've come back to this post several times and just stare at the blank screen... There is one big experience that comes to mind every time I think of what to write about but I hesitate to even mention it because its way too personal.

I've had a relatively easy life. Nothing very life changing. No deaths, accidents, etc which I'm very grateful for! Moving was always hard but I wouldn't consider it the hardest thing I've experienced.

When Josh and I started dating it didn't take very long before I knew I loved him and wanted to marry him. So why did it take us 2 years to finally get married?! Because for a while we weren't thinking in an eternal perspective. I don't want to bore you with the details, let's just say we weren't living our lives the way we should have been. Realizing that we needed to make some major changes, we both went to our bishops and started this long process. At least it seemed very long at the time. This wasn't the hardest part....

The hardest part was putting aside my fears and telling my parents the truth. All they have ever wanted for me was to be happy. To live the gospel and to be married in the temple. How was I suppose to tell the two people I love the most that I had disappointed them? That everything wasn't fine like I had been saying it was? That I wasn't truly happy? I don't remember how exactly how the conversation went, but I do remember my dad asking my to read them my patriarchal blessing. After reading that to them out loud, I realized everything was going to be okay. All they had to say was nothing but encouraging words. That they loved me and were proud of me for choosing to better my life. And that they were there for me.

Looking back now I'm very grateful to have gone through this experience. There have been nothing but good things since. It has giving me a greater knowledge and appreciation for the atonement. My testimony has grown and Josh and I are different and better people than we were almost 3 years ago! I'm also grateful Josh and I did this together. We've only been married for seven months, and it is so comforting to know that we will be together for eternity. Going through the temple for the time with Josh was the the happiest I have ever been! What made it even better was having my parents there with me and my mom by my side the entire time! Getting there wasn't easy but it was totally worth it!

Design Stuff

I thought I'd take a break from the 30 Things. Probably because next on the list is "What is the hardest thing you've ever experienced?" and I'm having the hardest time thinking of what to write about...

So instead I thought I'd share a little something something. If you didn't know, I went to school for graphic and web design. I graduated in May 2011 and have done a few things here and there but nothing very serious. And I'm pretty embarrassed to say that I don't open illustrator or photoshop as much as I should, in fact almost never. I'm pretty very rusty.

Recently though I've been playing around and even designed a few things! Including my fancy new header! I forgot how much I enjoy it! Here are a few others I've been working on just for fun.

Happy Wednesday.

Dear 16 Year Old Self...

If you don't know what is going on here take a look at 12 and 3

4/30 : List 10 things you would tell your 16 year-old self, if you could.

1. Try and do better in school. I know it seems so lame right now. I know what you're thinking "Why do I need to learn this? History and English are so dumb!" But trust me, it's important. Learn these 'boring' things now and you'll do so much better in college later! Not to mention you'll be so much smarter!

2. Choose your friends wisely. You're still new in town and you'll become very close with a few amazing people. But as you grow up and graduate you'll start working and meeting different people. Befriend everyone, its okay, But be careful who you hand out with. Not everyone shares your values and they can get you into trouble. Stay close to your family they are your best lifelong friends!

3. Don't be so shy! Talk to people more and don't worry so much about what people think of you. Not everyone is as judging as you think. You'll make more friends and have more fun being social!

4. Stay strong in the church. Read the book of Mormon and build your testimony. It will better prepare you for entering the temple one day.

5. Learn to manage your money. You have a problem with spending too much. You'll have your first job soon and have no bills or anything to pay for. Make it a habit now to save and spend a little here and there.

6. Don't quit the guitar. You'll regret it.

7. Play some kind of sport, get into running, biking, anything active. You'll wish you did later.

8. Spend more time with your family. They love you and you'll miss them SO MUCH when you move.

9. Always remember your self worth.

10. Don't give into peer pressure.

(This is like the ONLY picture I could find of myself at 16 years old.... attractive..)
